January 2013

Festival of Sails (Australia)

First held in 1844, the Festival of Sails is Victoria’s oldest ongoing sporting event, and the largest annual keel boat regatta in the Southern Hemisphere. The Festival of Sails attracts over 400 yachts and 4,500 competitors to Melbourne and Geelong over the Australia Day holiday period.

Royal Langkawi International Regatta (Malaysia)

Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2012 is a premier sailing event organized by the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club. Royal Langkawi Yacht Club marina is situated on the south-east corner of Langkawi island close to the island's main town, providing excellent access to supermarkets, duty-free shops and business facilities. Langkawi Yacht Club is an exclusive establishment with a beautiful clubhouse and a fully equipped marina, comprising 51 berths that can accommodate a variety of vessels including sailing keels, deep hull boats and even 60m mega-yachts.

Volvo Ocean Race

The Volvo Ocean Race is the world's toughest sailing event. It is a marathon on the seas lasting over eight months, passing through four oceans and five continents. The race will start in the Spanish port of Alicante in October 2011 and finish in Galway, Ireland in July 2012. On the way, the race will visit Cape Town (South Africa), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Sanya (China), Auckland (New Zealand), Itajaí (Brazil), Miami (USA), Lisbon (Portugal) and Lorient (France). The race is contested by 11-strong crews of professional sailors

PIMEX - Phuket International Boat Show (Thailand)

Now on its ninth year, PIMEX is an established and successful event in the marine and leisure calendar. As the 2011 edition showed, the show is well attended by luxury brands and individuals keen to buy. Over 6,000 individuals were involved and USD$20 million of product was sold. Like its location, PIMEX is a relaxed event where participants celebrate the boating, leisure and luxury lifestyle in an ideal tropical destination. YARE - Yachting After Sales & Refit Exhibition (Viareggio, Italy)

YARE, is the first event totally dedicated to all the after sales operations that follow the purchase of a boat. The Show takes place in Viareggio, in the beautiful setting of la Darsena, the very heart of the harbour, where the protagonists of the International yachting community meet. Around the dock area, Exhibitors will display all kinds of services and products related to yacht after sales operations and different interactive sections will be organized.
You can expect to meet representatives of the international yachting community: refit and restoration yards and suppliers, marinas and harbours, designers and marine engineers, leasing and insurance companies, worker agencies, captains and crews, brokers and brokerage companies, yacht management companies, surveyors, flag registries, owner representatives and owners.

Singapore Yacht Show

The three day event held at the beautiful ONE°15 Marina Club, showcases some of the finest superyachts in the world together with other luxurious vessels. The World Superyacht Awards (Istanbul, Turkey)

The image of the coveted Neptune trophy has become synonymous with excellence in superyacht build and design. Fourteen Neptune Awards, each one individually custom made, will be presented in 2012.

The Superyacht Cup is the longest running superyacht regatta in Europe and the Mediterranean. The event has become a favourite with owners, friends and captains around the world that visit Palma de Mallorca annually for the 4 day Palma edition of the Superyacht Cup.

Superyacht Cup Palma (Mallorca, Spain)

The Superyacht Cup is the longest running superyacht regatta in Europe and the Mediterranean. The event has become a favourite with owners, friends and captains around the world that visit Palma de Mallorca annually for the 4 day Palma edition of the Superyacht Cup.

Superyacht Cup Cowes (United Kingdom)

The Superyacht Cup Cowes will offer owners and guests a unique experience of sailing in the waters of the Solent and around the Isle of Wight. The format for the Superyacht Cup Cowes will be similar to the Superyacht Cup Palma; held over three days racing and four days social activities. The event will include social functions ashore at the Royal Yacht Squadron and various other venues. Following the regatta, owners will have the opportunity to watch the start of the sailing Olympics in Weymouth, or attend the Olympics Opening Ceremony in London.

Cannes International Boat and Yacht Show (France)

US Sailboat Show (Annapolis, Maryland, USA)

The United States Sailboat Show, attracts more than 50,000 boating enthusiasts from around the world to the waterfront of historic Annapolis, Maryland. This five-day show is recognized as one of the best and biggest in the industry for new, in-water sailboats. The Chesapeake Bay town is also home of U.S. Naval Academy. Recognized worldwide as the premier sailing showcase, this is the place to buy, sell or dream.

US Powerboat Show (Annapolis, Maryland, USA)

The nation’s oldest and largest in-water powerboat exhibition, is just three days after the renowned United States Sailboat Show. Located in the quaint town of Annapolis, Maryland, the show features everything from luxurious motor yachts and trawlers to high-performance boats and offshore fishing machines. There are family cruisers, center consoles, inflatables and the world’s largest power catamaran section. Attendees will also find a wide selection of marine equipment, high-tech electronics, accessories, gear and related services such as boating lessons, rentals, insurance firms and lending institutions.

Superyacht Design Symposium (Miami, Florida, USA)

This symposium is a well established event on the superyacht calendar, which draws some of the biggest names in the industry to debate and deliberate over hot topics in superyacht design. Owners, designers, builders and project managers convene in Palm Beach each October for two days of debate and discussion on pre-determined topics which are presented by experts in their fields, or fielded by a panel.

Hanseboot - Hamburg International Boat Show (Germany)

The nine days of the event at the fairground and the In-Water hanseboot is yearly attended by about 100,000 visitors. Boats are displayed in the large airy exhibition centre and in the Hanseboot-Hafen dock, and can be witnessed in action on the Elbe and Alster rivers bordering the city. In 2011 the exhibitors were some 700 boat builders and yacht dealers, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, accessories and services for watersports.

Nautic - Paris Boat Show (France)

The annual event to discover the new 2011/2012 models in the nautical world. The Paris Nautic Boat Show (Salon Nautique de Paris) is one of Europe’s best known boating events. It is an annual event that will showcase the latest in nautical products and services with over 1,200 exhibitors for an attendance of more than 200,000 visitors. 1,400 brands will be represented at this auspicious occasion with 3 different areas: sailing and tourism; motor boating; equipment. There will be around 1,400 boats to view with 300 of these being brand new models. All the main sailboat and motor boat companies will be on display with their representatives eager to assist you with any queries.
